Hey Baby

Einen Kopf voller Designideen habe ich häufig - allerdings nur 10 Finger. Lena von Lenas Sofa und Cyw vom Jahreszeitenhaus haben sich in dieser Ausgabe der Lacke in Farbe... und bunt! (bzw. hier) für die Farbe Pink entschieden und ich komme endlich dazu einen Signature Look nachzubasteln.

Hey Baby (OPI, Gwen Stefani Collection). Farbe & Finish: Ein klassisches Magenta, also ein intensives, leicht kühles Pink mit Creme-Finish. Auftrag: Gut. Trotz des Miniaturpinsels lässt sich die Textur gut verteilen und trocknet sehr schnell. Leider zieht sich die Oberfläche kaum glatt, so dass trotz guter Deckkraft zwei dicke oder drei dünne Schichten nötig sind. Preis/Leistung: Befriedigend. Im Rahmen einer Kooperation mit Gwen Stefani war dieser Lack bei OPI im Februar 2014 mit 15 ml Inhalt für 16 Euro erhältlich. Mein Miniaturset Rock Starlets habe ich mir damals für knappe 15 Euro bestellt und so je 3,75 ml Hey Baby, I Sing In Color, Love.Angel.Music.Baby. und 4 In The Morning erhalten.

Tape-Maniküren mit semimatten Lacken wie 4 In The Morning (OPI, Gwen Stefani Collection) sind etwas schwierig(er), so dass auch ich nach zwei Versuchen kapituliert habe. Ich hatte zunächst versucht drei dünne Schichten Hey Baby und eine Schicht Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer (ESSENCE) mit Stripping Tape abzukleben und mit 4 In The Morning auszufüllen, was jedoch an letzterem gescheitert ist: Das Schwarz deckte nicht optimal und die Kanten wurden wulstig. Somit blieb mir nur der umgekehrte Weg auf drei Schichten 4 In The Morning, Striping Tape und drei Schichten Hey Baby. Trotz der Schichtarbeit blieb das Pink dünn und die Maniküre damit ebenmäßig. Da sich Hey Baby selbst aber nicht optimal glatt zieht, habe ich das Ganze noch mit einer Schicht Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer versiegelt und so leider den Finish-Mix zerstört. Hätte ich jedoch meine Nägel nicht aus wenigen Zentimetern Entfernung fotografieren wollen, dann wäre die Maniküre auch ohne Überlack perfekt gewesen.

I wanted to recreate some signature looks for quite a time but always postponed these due to more innovative or creative designs. Since this week's colour for Lacke in Farbe... und bunt! (or here) hosted by Lena at Lenas Sofa and Cyw at Jahreszeitenhaus is 'pink' I took on the opportunity and tried the signature nail design OPI created for the Gwen Stefani Collection earlier this year. I placed striping tape on top of three thin coats of 4 In The Morning (OPI, Gwen Stefani Collection) and filled the gaps with the vivid cool-toned magenta pink Hey Baby (OPI, Gwen Stefani Collection). Although I needed three coats of this lovely creme colour, the design came out much smoother than the other way aroung with Hey Baby at the bottom. Unfortunately, I had to destroy the semi matte finish of 4 In The Morning with one coat of Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer (ESSENCE) since Hey Baby is not self levelling very much.

Poetic

Es ist zwei Wochen nach Ostern und ich komme bei der Vernichtung der letzten Schokoeier auf die glorreiche Idee, noch eine Ostermaniküre zu basteln...

Poetic (P2, Color Victim Nail Polish). Farbe & Finish: Mittleres, blaulastiges, leicht angeschmutztes Violett im Creme-Finish. Die Farbe erinnert etwas an das typische Milka-Lila, wobei das wiederum etwas weniger Blauanteil besitzt und allgemein strahlender wirkt. Auftrag: Sehr gut. Der Lack ist mittlerweile etwas zäh geworden, lässt sich aber noch immer gut verteilen, deckt in zwei Schichten und trocknet zügig durch. Preis/Leistung: Sehr gut. Zwei Jahre lang von März 2011 bis März 2013 war dieses schöne Violett Teil des Color Victim Nail Polish-Standardsortiments. Die 8 ml waren wie immer für schmale 1,55 Euro zu haben.

Der Farbvergleich mit dem Milka-Lila war tatsächlich geplant. Ich bin kein großer Fan von Vollmilchschokolade, doch zu Ostern wünsche ich mir gerne Kleine Eier Knister, also diese Minieier, die mit Brausegranulat gefüllt sind. Um die Verpackung nachzubasteln habe ich zwei Schichten Poetic mit Striping Tape abgeklebt, mit Pink It Up (P2!, Color Victim Nail Polish) ausgemalt, mit dem Nail Art Duo Stylist (ESSENCE) Blümchen in Pure White (P2, Square Affaire) kreiert und noch einige Details mit dem schwarze Eternal (P2, Color Victim Nail Polish) und einem feinen Pinsel aufgebracht. Das Design ist mit einer Schicht Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer (ESSENCE) überzogen.

Easter has been two weeks ago and I had the grand idea to do another easter-inspired nail design. I am not a huge fan of milk chocolate or chocolate at all but there are small chocolate eggs filled with a sherbet chocolate mixture by the Swiss brand Milka which I really like. They are only available around Easter and are wrapped individually in a purple pink foil with white flowers. To recreate the packaging I brushed on two easy coats of Poetic (P2, Color Victim Nail Polish), a medium cool-toned and strongly blue-tinted purple with a creme finish. This colour is similar to the typical Milka brand purple and has been available from March 2011 to March 2013 in the standard range of Color Victim Nail Polishes. I placed striping tape, filled in the gaps with Pink It Up! (P2, Color Victim Nail Polish), created flowers using the Nail Art Duo Stylist (ESSENCE) and Pure White (P2, Square Affaire) and added some details using Eternal (P2, Color Victim Nail Polish) and a fine brush. I sealed the design with one coat of Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer (ESSENCE), afterwards. Since most of the polishes I have used are quite old I am able to participate once again in the Golden Oldie Thursday by Debbie at The Crumpet and last week's topic 'Flowers'.
